One of my favorite groups of all time is Casting Crowns. They’ve described what they do as “discipleship set to music”…and that’s something I can get behind. Their newest video, Slow Fade, was released today on Yahoo video. I went and got it so you could see it. The song will be featured in the upcoming movie Fireproof with Kirk Cameron. Enjoy!
Having a website is a big responsibility. Most of the time, most people don't think twice about it...after all: they wonder why anybody at all would read their website. If they're convinced that they're not being read, they don't have to think about what they write.
Though most web users might not know it, most pornographers love Christians. Our naiveté allows them to make a lot of money. What do I mean? Here's one example:
Miranda asked: "If god already knows what we want, why pray?" That's a very good question, and one that lots of people have asked. I'm not sure that anyone has a complete answer...
Some are shocked at the utter depravity that can lurk in the minds and hearts of seemingly-normal people. I have to admit that I'm rarely surprised to see how much evil one can do. Today's shocking Yahoo News story is about a man in Austria who confessed to holding his adult daughter captive for 24 years.
As I mentioned earlier, Jason Beghe used to be Scientology's poster boy. Now he's speaking out against the sci-fi religion. Enjoy his interview...your comments are welcome.
Annie Lobert is, in my opinion, a courageous woman. Not only is she publicizing the fact that she used to be a hooker, she's taking the gospel to thousands of men and women.
If you've never heard the name T-Bone Burnett, it's possible that you really have been living under a rock. He's a musician, producer, and songwriter (among other things). He's toured with Bob Dylan - back in the day, not recently - and produced music for artists like these:
I don't find it that odd that this sort of thing is happening. The pressure on Scientology is intensifying, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a whole bunch more defections before 2008 is over.
Most Americans know who Jason Beghe is. I wasn't sure until I looked at the movies and TV shows he's been in...then I knew I'd seen him dozens of times. Jason used to be a Scientologist. No, not your run-of-the-mill Scientologist...he was an OT VII.
Some people never learn. The point of the gospel is to share it. Some churches never quite get around to helping people share their faith...so they completely miss the point. Here's another example of someone missing the point:
Doesn't the Discovery Channel have a proofreader? I spent a few minutes reading an article there today, titled Ancient Humor: Raunch, Riddles and Religion (no longer available). I found it interesting, for the most part.
