Articles about Proverbs

The biblical Book of Proverbs is a ‘collection of collections’ of wisdom sayings. Some are attributed to King Solomon, some to King Lemuel (which his mother taught him), some to Agur, and others to a person or groups simply called “the wise.”

Speaking of wisdom, it’s wise to acknowledge that Proverbs contains both human and divine wisdom. Some passages appear to contradict each other. While many Christians turn to Proverbs for wisdom, some use it to find promises that God has made to them. This is unwise, as that’s not the nature of Proverbs.

My friend asked: "Would I be very far off the path in thinking that the writer of Proverbs was in fact referring to the Christ years before he appeared on earth? John used the word The Word and Proverbs uses the word Wisdom."
