This section is devoted to aberrant Christian theology, doctrine, and movements. Aberrant simply means “straying from the right or normal way.” An aberrant Christian teaching is one that deviates from what is taught in the Bible. Aberrant teachings may be an outright contradiction of Scripture, but they are often more subtle, twisting the words of the Bible, providing a “new” understanding of a text, giving a different definition to an established word, or simply overemphasizing one doctrine to give it more weight than is given in Scripture.
This page will list aberrations, not disagreements. There is a distinct difference. Aberrations fall outside the historically-accepted boundaries of orthodoxy. Doctrinal disagreements fall inside those boundaries. Each example listed here should be considered both unbiblical and spiritually dangerous.
